A PEEK @ PORT ARANSAS

We drove to Port Aransas so Greg could get a scrip refilled @ CVS.  Brand new building.  Harvey took out the one before, so we were told....  The town is a typical beach town with souvenir shops, bait shops etc.  Cute town....  There is a ferry that takes vehicles back and forth to Aransas Pass.  It doesn't charge to do so.  WOW!  That's a surprise.  We will explore Aransas Pass another day!
ORANGE BARGE.  WONDERING IF THERE IS MAJOR CONSTRUCTION GOING ON BEHIND IT

TWO OF THE 6 FERRY BOATS

LEAVING PORT ARANSAS TOWARD ARANSAS PASS

We watched the ferry's for a bit and then drove to the beach, and on it!!!  The waves were really busy!  It was very windy,  We will  have to get a $12 Beach Parking Pass before we can park and explore.

WE HAVE ARRIVED!

We left Riverbend RV Park Tuesday October 30th around 9:30 AM.  Heavy rain for the first hour and then off and on showers.  In & out of construction but no major back ups.  North bound had an accident with 2 semi's that had traffic tied up for miles.  Glad we were south bound!

We arrived a day earlier that planned @ Pioneer RV Resort, Port Aransas Texas.  No problems at all moving our reservation ahead one day,  A nice surprise when Greg checked us in.  Stay one month, get one month free.  NICE!  We are thinking that is a Nov. / Dec. Special only, but we'll take it!!

Topped the propane tank in Fredrick @ the entrance to the park since we are to be here all Winter.  Only took $2.00 worth to fill but will keep us from having to fill the tank a little longer since we have to put in the slides/levelers and drive back to the entrance when we are needing propane again.
ENTRANCE AND OFFICE

WAS PLEASANTLY SURPRISED THERE IS A PICNIC TABLE.  I COULDN'T SEE ANY IN THE PICS I HAD LOOKED AT ONLINE

CLUB HOUSE & POOL RIGHT BEHIND OUR COACH

The weather here is gorgeous!  A little windy at times, but sunny and 70's so far every day.   YAY!  The sites are a little close, but all concrete pads and roadways.  Over 500 sites in the park.  We are on Site 69, close to the Club House, Pool/Hot Tub, Showers and laundromat.  Don't need the Laundromat since we have our wonderful stacked washer/dryer.  Which I love.... No lugging the laundry baskets!

The Boardwalk to the Gulf Of Mexico Beach is at the back of the campground, so we drove the Jeep there instead of walking.  Sure is a beautiful view!  Fun to walk in the waves, although Otis wasn't so sure what was happening when a wave tried to "get him" and he ran back towards Greg.  😂  Wish I would have gotten a video!  Maybe next time!

There was a Halloween Golf Cart Parade at 5:30 the night we arrived.  Fun to watch!  The participants were dressed in costumes and had their golf carts decorated.  They threw candy at us.  Yummy Tootsie Rolls and Twizzlers for the most part,  YUM!

THURSDAY NOVEMBER 1ST
Otis & I go for a morning walk so he can "do his business" and see the beautiful area surrounding the Club House
There is a Birding Pond in the middle of the campground.  Harvey did quite a bit of damage to the pond and the birds are slowly returning...
I love the Palm Trees around the park.  Too bad there isn't one on our site!
