SUNDAY OCTOBER 14
We pulled out of Noccalula a little before 9AM CST. Drove south on Route 59 with no problems. Stopped for fuel @ Route 77. Thought there would be a lot of traffic there headed to the NASCAR Race @ Talledega but there wasn't any at all.
We stopped @ each rest stop we came to (3) so Greg could smoke and Otis could potty. Otis would start howling when we started into the rest stop lane. HILARIOUS! We both were laughing once we got parked. Otis was very happy to get out in the sunshine and sniff and hike his leg everywhere he could...

MISSISSIPPI WELCOME CENTER |
Mississippi Rest Stops have Sanitary Dump Stations for RV's just as Alabama did. Ohio should get on that band wagon, in my opinion!
We arrived @ Bonita Lakes RV Park around 2 or so.

BONITA LAKES PARK ENTRANCE |
Picked our campsite and got leveled with no issues. Nice concrete pad. Full hook up. No trees, sites right beside each other..... We do get a satellite signal and the camp has cable hookup.

MONDAY OCTOBER 15
Drove into Meridian Mississippi to Explore. Had gotten a small map @ the Mississippi Welcome Center Rest Stop that showed a few things we wanted to check out. We started out using the map and got totally turned around..... the town of Meridian is filled with one way streets and streets that are numbers with either Street or Avenue suffixes but the same street name. Very confusing! Finally started using Google Maps on my phone and drove right to the carousel we wanted to check out. It was closed. 😢
We drove on to find the marker on the Mississippi Blues Trail honoring Jimmie Rogers.
Moved on to find his grave site @ Oak Hill Baptist Church Graveyard

We drove thru the nearby McDonalds for a cheeseburger and took it to Bonita Lake Park for lunch.

GAZEBO AT EDGE OF LAKE |
Our final destination was Dunn Falls about 17 miles away. Should have checked it out online! It wasn't what we thought it would be at all. 20 years ago, a man made the natural water falls into a water park and charges admission to view the falls and a replica of the old mill that used to be there back in the day. We chatted with the very nice lady at the admission office but decided not to pay the admission fee to see the falls.
We will be heading to southern Mississippi tomorrow. Thunderstorms are in the forecast. Only 140 miles to our next destination, so it shouldn't be too bad....
